NILDS Partners NSCDC for Enhance Security Sector Governance

 

In a bid to bolster security sector governance, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has embarked on a collaborative effort with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, Director General of NILDS, unveiled this partnership during a courtesy visit to Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Commandant General of NSCDC, at the headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting aimed to identify avenues for partnership and collaboration, focusing on synergizing efforts, exchanging knowledge, and planning joint initiatives to enhance security governance effectiveness and efficiency.

Professor Sulaiman affirmed NILDS’ commitment to providing technical support and strengthening NSCDC’s capacity to fulfil its mandates.

Emphasizing the importance of fortifying democratic institutions nationwide, Prof. Sulaiman stressed the need to support military and paramilitary forces, stating, “Combating insecurity requires a holistic approach that addresses underlying causes.”

The Commandant General, in his address, expressed optimism in NILDS’ technical expertise and service delivery, affirming NSCDC’s readiness to collaborate with NILDS to enhance the nation’s security architecture.
