Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), has advocated for the exploration of sustainable and renewable energy sources to foster industrialization and promote development. This call was made during the inaugural knowledge-sharing session on renewable energy project development, organized by NILDS in Abuja on Friday.
In his address, Prof. Sulaiman highlighted the Institute’s responsibility in legislative and democratic consolidation, stressing the need to devise innovative solutions to propel Nigeria’s growth and development. He urged participants to recognize the significance of the knowledge-sharing series and assured them of the Institute’s unwavering dedication and support for staff development.
During the event, Dr. Bethel Ihugba, a Senior Research Fellow at NILDS, delivered a presentation titled “Methods and Sources of Financing Power Projects.” In this discourse, Dr. Ihugba underscored the notable benefits of employing renewable energy technologies and tackled various challenges that impede their widespread implementation in Nigeria.
